A Scary Village Episode 2

 The initial evening

The buddies were carried to their rooms, they both had curtained beds hence there was no intrusion of the moon light into the rooms they were in. These words of the innkeeper were repeating in Emma’s mind as she traveled for a few more hours, and then she felt cold and packed the car, assisting Frank.

After they settled, they went to the little sitting room near the fire place where they found get a worn-out book titled “Legends of Blackwood. ” Emma's opened it & began to read aloud from the book.

‘If one is to believe the rumors floating around the town, it is said that Blackwood is a hub of supernatural activity since villagers in the region were mysteriously vanished few centuries ago,’ she was reading. Popular belief has it that the ghosts roam the village especially during the misty days in the morning or in the evening and they give a crescendo during the nighttime.

Tom, quickly looking outside the windows, commented, “Great, just what we need.

To humor her and to diffuse the tension, Jake said, “Come on, it’s just a fiction story. ” “We should sleep for some time and when we wake up we’ll go around this place for the whole weekend. ”

That night, Emma wanted to sleep but she had a difficult time falling asleep. This led her to have disruptive nightmares after reading what she had come across. She slept with an open window and in the early hours of the morning she heard a hushed whisper. Her emotions reached the boiling point and she got up from her chair to look through the curtains. They dark limbs could be discerned through the grey veil and she was able to distinguish shapes in the distance.

To her surprise and immediate dismay, she was staring at her own face through the window; Emma quickly snapped the blinds down and climbed back into her bed, dismissing it as all in her mind. Nonetheless, the apprehension did not cease and kept me from switching off the light and going to sleep.

The Investigation

The next morning Emma shared with her friends about the peculiar people she met which left the friends amused. Despite of that, Jake and Tom had some doubts, yet Sarah did look really frightened.

“Jordan…Are you sure you wasn’t just dreaming?” Jake questioned him.

Undeterred, Emma retorted, “I’m positive,” “I saw them. ”

‘That is why there’s always one way of knowing this,’ replied Tom. I said: ‘Well, let me tell you guys, there is only one unpardonable sin- and that’s ignorance of the truth; ignorance of the truth that perches in that village and which we are going to discover. ’

The friends went out driving around in various parts within Blackwood town which was marked by complicated networks of fog filled streets. Sometimes only one could see a couple of cats jumped from house to house, making it look like the village was deserted. When they got down to the village, they saw an old church with a pointed roof and a steeple over the nearby buildings.

Even Sarah who has been reluctant to explore commented, “Let’s go to the church, I want to find out more information, "localhost.

Pews were made of wood and stretched from the floor to the ceiling; stained glass windows projected mystic patterns on the floor; the lighting was rather poor and the smell was somewhat stale. The misplaced children found a hidden door to the basement during the explorations. He turned the rusty handle and the scored by age door squeaked open on a flight of stone steps going down into darkness.

They descend down the steps equally cautiously with their torch bearing hands. This can be seen on the walls of the cellar where visitors saw signs that were unfamiliar to them, the power of horror further manifested through marks on the walls and abrupt the change in temperature. They found a wooden chest situated deep down hidden under the dust.

Taking a stick, Jake broke the lock and opened the chest in front of him, and inside he discovered a logbook and several scrolls. Carrying the journal safely, Emma began to read.

She read: “People of the village thought that Blackwood was under the evil spirit’s power. ” ‘Several ceremonies involving chanting and offerings were made to the spirit to appease it but anybody who would prevent the rites that were to be done would vanish. ’: ‘The notebook captures the events of the town several days before the onset of the vanishing. ’

They did so with much of trepidation due to the kind of stories that filled the journal. The more they read, the began to realize that it was not just the simple myths as they were the dark history of Blackwood.
