An Unexpected Meeting
In the morning, Mia hurried to her first class, Introduction to Literary Studies. This was because Mia believed that she was in a movie theater given the size of the lecture hall and the number of rows of chairs laid. She began taking out her notebook and pens after she had securely sit somewhere near the middle.
A good looking man of medium build with dark in shaggy state entered the class to sit beside her just in the middle of the class. For a moment, it looked as if he had had to dash across campus to make it on time; he was somewhat winded. He bent over and whispered something in her ear then tilted his head to the side and looked at her with a cheeky grin.
:It was a handshake and he introduced himself saying, ‘Hi there my name is Ethan’.
‘Hello,’ said she, ‘My name is Mia’ ” and he nodded and took her hand to shake it. "Nice to meet you."
Lifting the corners of her eyes during the lecture, Mia found herself eavesdropping on Ethan. he was capturing all the details and once in a while, he looked like he was in a thoughtful agreement with what the professor had to say, evidently passionate about the course. When they had to form a group with partners for a group discussion, Mia immediately noticed that Ethan not only is quite smart but also has a good sense of humor and, as far as she could judge, a kind-hearted person.
“Hey, can I know what book you prefer most?” Ethan asked as they were solving the task given by their teacher.
“Hmmm, that one is tricky,” Mia said after taking some time in deep thinking. ‘I think the book that I like most is ‘Pride and Prejudice’ This is due to the wit in the work as well as the characters.
‘Good choice,’ remarked dear Ethan with a friendly grin on his face. ”I once read ‘The Great Gatsby,’ the tragedy and lost American dream concept of the book is somehow fascinating to me.”
Thus, Mia and Ethan started feeling closeness as weeks of their cooperation passed. They learned together, went to the university café to have coffee and shared real-life stories with each other. Ethan mentioned he is the first in his family to go to college and he came from a small town in Ohio. He had passion in capturing images through photography and he usually went out over weekend moving around the city just to take pictures .

The Autumn Celebration
Mia and Lily, both feeling a bit exhausted after the day of studying, were walking back to their dorm one fine autumn day and noticed that flyers about the Fall Festival were being put all over campus. It is a well-established tradition at Redwood University that entailed most of the elements associated with the festival; food stalls, performances, and a talent show when students can show how they are skilled.
“We have to go!” hysteria ringing in her voice. "I’ve heard it’s amazing."
Mia agreed and planned a date with him where they would go out with some friends. There was sheer joy in seeing the campus transformed right into a colorful carnival, on the festival day. There was the scent of caramel apples, popcorn, and fairy lights hung on the trees all around.
A crowd of onlookers had accumulated to watch students attempt to drown their teachers in the dunk tank and that was how Mia noticed Ethan. His face dancing with joy making gestures of waving them to come over.
Hey Mia! Lily! Here it is something you have to try out too, Ethan shouted at the top of his lungs. It is rib cracking funny. "

They spent time with Ethan and for a fun day they played games and had superb delicious food to eat all through the afternoon. As it started to get late in the evening, Ethan turned towards Mia and the event had the warm tinge to it.
He asked her, “Are you going to join the ‘Talent Show’?”
Naturally, Mia answered. These are some of the comment that I received: ‘Well I heard there is going to be some amazing performances’.
After going to the ground, Ethan thought of taking candid shots of the event as they walked to the outside stage. Even though Mia was very professional she couldn’t help but notice his determination as well as ability. Arriving, they quickly got the chairs right at the edge of the stage, and they were looking forward to the particular show.
The talent event held featured aspects of comedy, joyous youthful movements, and vocal performances. Mia and Ethan joined in the celebration and cheered every dancer enthusiastically, with the lone enjoyment in their loneliness that came from shared togetherness. When the final performance ends, the audience break into a loud clap.
Twirling around to address Ethan and then murmur softly, “This has been the best day ever.” Mia replied enthusiastically saying, “I’m so glad we came.”
“Me too,” Ethan said, and it sounded as if he was staring at her. “I could not have wished to spend it in the company of any one who had not just left the ranks of the students.”
There followed a pleasant tension as Mia smiled at him, her heart skipping a beat. She knew that she was only beginning her time as a collegiate student at Redwood University; however, with friends such as Lily and Ethan, she felt that her experience was going to be one of her lifetime.
