The Brand-New Start
A kind and caring old widower named Thomas and his pretty young daughter Emily lived in a small countryside village in England. As far as they were simple! Their life was bright with love. However, the loneliness which the man named Thomas experienced grew larger as time went on and it started to overshadow the fun. Their awareness of the firm convinced Emily to encourage her father to search for company out of concern for him.
One morning as Thomas was buying foods at the village market, he met a beautiful woman called Clara. Clara looked like a classy lady and she had kind and welcoming personality. She showered a lot of warmth and elegance, and thus within the shortest time possible, she secured a place in his heart. They were married soon after that and Clara also joined into the family cottage of the couple.
Clara was at first seen as a perfect woman, a perfect stepmother that any man would be happy to have. Her motives appeared to have some regard for Emily and pampered Thomas. As the time began, however, Clara’s true character emerged, and Kato saw that it was not as charming as the beginnings of the marriage. He had a bad attitude towards her and become cold to her, especially to Emily which she had to endure some of the most boring and toughest tasks to do. Accordingly, gentle and compliant to please the new stepmother , and Emily yearned that things would at least improve for the better.
Nonetheless, it turned into worse as the activities carried out by Clara. She began going for favored, spoiled, and selfish daughters of her own. Emily often suspected that she is left out from her own family members and has very few friends. Despite of this, Emily’s father showered his attention to her and she discovered that surviving under the dominance of Clara was getting to be more and more difficult.
Owing to some of the challenging chores that had befallen her on that particular day, such as doing a number of dishes, Emily happened to friend Sarah, her neighbor. Dear Sarah, With all that is going on, I am not sure on what I should do. I could do all I possibly could, yet I fail to see what I can do to make her happy.
‘I guess there is a way of arraigning your father to see how she treats you when he is not around,’ said Sarah who is always supportive. He must learn the truth about her that no one else has seen before, and this is how that expression is used in the novel.
Emily, who was still holding the letter with the encouraging and positive words of her beloved, smiled at Edward and responded positively as she said ‘yes. ’ She knew too that she must gather up the courage required of her to tell her father of the misdeeds of Clara. She did not expect that this was just the beginning of a great journey that she will experience.

The Disclosure
Therefore, Emily and Sarah devise a plan that would change Clara’s nature for the better or rather bring out her real self. am and tar decided to write all the harsh deeds clara performed whenever thomas was away in a diary. Every mean word, every unfair call that was made, every act in which Clara was a preferred mother to her daughters over Emily was documented by Emily.
Time passed, and Clara’s sins were recorded in the journal, as the work’s title suggests. Despite childhood trauma and Emily’s desperate pleas for her father to wake up from the nightmare, her spirit remained alive throughout the film. Emily believed that one day when Clara and her daughters are out, her father will find the journal that was left on the table.
It was one night when Thomas came across the journal. Cassidy’s heart sank as their hands flipped through the pages. This was rather shocking for him, and he did not expect his beloved spouse whom he had selected on his own to be so inhuman towards their only daughter. The following night after supper Thomas realized that he would have to talk things over with Clara.
At this moment, Thomas distributed the journal he was holding over and said, ‘Today, I read something that upset me. ’
Clara's countenance turned pallid. With much fear she begs them, never crossing the line between being apprehensive to turn off the show or being angry at her. "What is that?"
Then Thomas breathed something over him and said, ‘It is the journal of that girl,’ Emily. ’ It has documented all forms of wrong-doing done on her by you, perverted acts’. How did the environment turn me into a wicked woman to be have such behaviors and make such decision?"
Clara squinted her eyes. I disagree with her; she is not saying the truth, she is only trying to persuade you against me.
Thomas gave a headshake. ”I have never known Emily to tell me a lie, it appears that I have been lost here, Clara but I trusted you. ”
There was a kind of change in Clara’s face from looking more like she wanted to protect me, to looking like she wanted to kill me. Thomas, it can be so regretted, and you may better not do it. My dear and that little brat, looking quite the same. "
He then needlessly insults Clara, causing her to storm out of the room after stating such, and the Duncan siblings, Thomas and Emily, to be left to clean up such mess. The two embraced, as Thomas apologized to Emily for not perceiving the truth at the earliest go around. He also promised to always take care and fix things around her.
However, the grimacing Clara’s work was not over yet. The student threatened to ‘get back’ at Emily after vowing to ‘get revenge’ and teach her a lesson for ‘outing’ her.

The Story Gets Thicker
Clara and her anger had turned into a determined pragmatist who decided to get rid of Emily. She especially branded everyone’s friendly neighbor Emily as a deceitful and untruthful young lady all around the village. Unfortunately, some people around them could not believe the words of the beautiful woman, and due to Clara’s manipulations, Emily became almost deprived of communication with many friends.
Marissa/Annabelle, two daughters to Clara, once eavesdropped on their mother plotting with a unknown man one day. Clara said, ”We have to get rid of her. ” ”Make it a look like she slipped and tripped and fell. ”
The girls were spoilt, but even so they had some generous in their bones. They were all concerned about the plans made by their mother. A more friendly Marissa decided to launch a sneak attack on Emily and approach her. Emily, you should be careful because most of the info you find on the internet is false. I knew right from wrong well, I also knew that mom was up to something naughty. "
Emily's gaze expanded. "What do you mean?"
“She was talking about merging an Ouija with an invisibility ray on you with a man. ” Emily, you have to go. Change location for your own safety,” Marissa responded.
This feeling of relief and repulsion hugely overwhelmed Emily. Marissa could have made her decision once she joined the conversation and said “thank you”. Late that evening she took the few essentials and some personal effects in a small bag. In her note left for her father she assured him that she would come back when it was safe She explained the reasons behind her actions stating among them that it was because of some problems , which had made it impossible for her to continue staying in her home.
Into the dark night fled Emily, feeling welcome by the neighboring forest as the weight of her heart bore down on her. Thus, with the aim of making her father understand and to look for a way how to prevent Clara, she moved into a deserted cabin.
The very next morning, Thomas came across Emily’s note. Despite his reluctance to leave the place, he understood that he had to do it right away. His aim being to locate Emily and prevent Clara from doing the evil deeds, he proceeded to the nearby village to seek help.
It was not good news after all, and Clara grew more frantic upon knowing that Emily had managed to slip through. After spending a sum of money, she hired a stranger whose identity was unknown to her with the task of bringing back Emily, whether alive or a corpse. Emily’s safety was at risk while the various quests were on process.
